Melbourne Business School and the Faculty of Business and Economics retain EQUIS accreditation
Melbourne Business School and the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Melbourne have secured another five years of global EQUIS accreditation.
Melbourne Business School and the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Melbourne have secured another five years (2026-2031) of EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) accreditation.
Awarded by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), EQUIS is one of the world's most prestigious accreditation systems for business schools that recognise excellence across teaching, research, industry engagement, internationalisation, governance and societal impact.
Melbourne Business School has held EQUIS accreditation since 2006, with Melbourne Business School and the Faculty of Business and Economics jointly accredited as a single school since 2016.
Professor Jenny George, Dean of Melbourne Business School and Co-Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics, said the successful re-accreditation recognises the strength of Melbourne Business School, its decade-long commitment to excellence, and the global opportunities it creates for students and alumni.
"EQUIS accreditation is internationally recognised as a hallmark of quality in business education, and we are proud to have achieved another five years of accreditation," Professor George said.
"This outcome also enables our students and alumni to be part of a global network of leading business schools, creating greater opportunities for international exchange, collaborative research, professional networking and career advancement.
Professor Serge da Motta Veiga, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics said the outcome reflects the strength and quality of the Faculty and its partnership with Melbourne Business School, while reinforcing their shared commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
"EQUIS accreditation provides an opportunity to ensure we are performing to global standards, and that we continue to improve to maintain our accreditation and meet the highest standards for our students, faculty and employers worldwide," Professor da Motta Veiga said.
"It also reinforces our shared ambition to provide students with a world-class education and learning experience that prepares them to succeed in a world of change. The higher education sector is facing an increasingly complex and changing environment, but these challenges also create opportunities to think differently. It's an exciting time to reimagine programs and initiatives that empower our students, deepen our connection with the community, and strengthen the partnerships that help us remain relevant, innovative and impactful."
