PROGRAM STRUCTURE AND SUBJECTS

Action Learning
Action Learning brings every aspect of the MBA to life, making lessons highly memorable and providing our students with invaluable experiences. It takes what you have learnt in the lecture theatre and applies it in real world situations via syndicate groups, internships, student clubs, case studies and course assignments.

Coaching and mentoring also play an important role to ensure you have direction on the immediate application of your learning.

Action Learning is at its peak with real business projects. These projects start with a briefing in Melbourne, progress through dealings with various organisations and culminate on the streets of China in the Business in Asia Study Project. All of this provides invaluable knowledge and experience that will prepare you to return to the work more equip.

Customise your course and your future
Melbourne Business School’s full-time MBA gives you the freedom to customise your program based on your aspirations. This includes optional paid internships, optional international exchange studies at more than 20 partnered business schools around the world, and electives in a range of areas such as marketing, finance, strategy, social impact and management to name a few.

Integrated Learning
Integrated learning will give you a more holistic view of business and a greater understanding of real problem solving in management.

Once a week, you, your classmates, faculty and members of the business community will come together for Integration Days. INTERNSHIPS

Melbourne Business School in conjunction with our Careers Partners is able to provide a selection of internships for our full-time MBA students.

Internships are one of the most valuable experiences for your learning and career aspirations as you work in organisations which allow you to apply your MBA studies and test your skills in a real-world business environment.

Careers Partners agree to provide internships that have strategic importance for their organisations and involve work at an appropriate MBA level to provide practical business experience. At these organisations you will be immersed within the organisation providing you valuable insight into their methods, processes and culture.

Many organisations providing internships will be looking at you as a prospective employee, so this is your time to shine. You will be provided a unique view of a potential employer, the chance to meet company executives and the opportunity to develop and extend your personal networks.

Internships are generally 8-12 weeks in duration, and can be taken anytime during the Internship and Electives Block Module. You will mostly be paid for your internship, but the amount paid depends on the organisation and sector involved.

Not-for-profit organisations provide internships to our students, which may not lead to full-time employment, but often provide strategically important projects highly valued by recruiting companies.

Internships are awarded to students though a competitive process, whereby you will apply and be interviewed for prospective roles. The internship process is facilitated through on and off-campus recruiting and is fully supported by the Melbourne Business School Careers team.

Visa for International Students

To study at Melbourne Business School, international students are required to obtain a student visa from an Australian embassy or consulate. The specific requirements associated with getting a student visa are determined by the ‘country/sector assessment level’ of the country of your citizenship, however, all applications will require, among other things, a letter of offer from Melbourne Business School and documents showing your financial support while at Melbourne Business School.

To receive a letter of offer from Melbourne Business School, candidates must complete and submit a successful application. It is recommended that you allow yourself ample time to obtain the appropriate visa from an Australian embassy or consulate. The process of issuing visas can be as long as 6 months in some instances. We therefore recommend international students apply to the program as early as possible.

For all visa and migration related questions please contact your local embassy or visit http://www.immi.gov.au/.
