Scholarships SUPPORT AT MELBOURNE BUSINESS SCHOOL

Candidates are advised that competition for scholarship support is intense and you should not apply for the MBA program unless you are able to be entirely self-funding.

The Rupert Murdoch Fellowship
(Available to Australian citizens and permanent residents only.)

News Limited established the Rupert Murdoch Fellowship Scheme to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of The Australian newspaper. Murdoch Fellows must study on a full-time basis and complete a term of their MBA studies at a prestigious overseas business school.

Rupert Murdoch Fellowships recognise achievements, initiative and commitment in areas beyond career or academic record and are awarded to candidates who have an interest in international business and have demonstrated a capacity to motivate and lead others.

The Fellowship provides a generous living allowance and meets the full costs of tuition to one student each year, valued at $92,000.

The Dean’s International Management Scholarship
(Available to international students only.)

The Dean’s International Management Scholarship reflects our commitment to international diversity by increasing opportunities for international students. The scholarship recognises the high calibre of international students commencing in our full-time MBA program each year.
 
Awarded on merit, the scholarship recognises candidates who demonstrate academic excellence, high level management qualities, and who have experience in international business.
This scholarship covers full-tuition costs for one or more students each intake, valued at $75,000.

The Nobby Clark Fellowship
(Available to Australian citizens and permanent residents only.)

In recognition of his valuable contribution to Australian business, and Melbourne Business School in particular, the Melbourne Business School Foundation Ltd. created the Nobby Clark Fellowship scheme.

The Fellowship is awarded to a student with interest in international business and demonstrated leadership capabilities, in addition to high academic achievement.

One Fellowship is awarded each year, worth up to $25,000 towards course tuition.

The Helen Macpherson Smith Fellowhip
(Available to female students from Victoria only.)

The Helen Macpherson Smith Trust has established a special fund to assist women to study, teach and research in management.
 
Macpherson Smith Fellowships are awarded each year to outstanding women who have demonstrated that they have the potential to reach senior levels in management or to create and run their own business.

These Fellowships vary in value, up to $25,000 towards course tuition.

MBS Scholarships

MBS Scholarships are fully funded by Melbourne Business School to encourage individuals who MBS believes will display ambassadorial qualities for the School and will take an active role in the community life of the School.

The MBS Scholarships are awarded to candidates who have demonstrated business leadership, academic capability and can offer diversity to the classroom.

These scholarships vary in value, up to $25,000 towards course tuition.

The following scholarships are awarded during the course of the MBA, to a successful second year student after a rigorous application and interview process:

The HJ Heinz Scholarship

The Trustees of the HJ Heinz Foundation established an annual scholarship which is awarded to one or more full-time student(s) in the second half of their MBA, who show(s) outstanding leadership potential.

The award is based on academic performance, potential for future leadership, financial need and successes achieved during internship/work experience programs.

This scholarship varies in value each year, up to $16,000 towards course tuition.

LEK Consulting Travel Scholarship

The annual LEK Travel scholarship is awarded to a student participating in the International Exchange Program as part of the full-time or part-time Melbourne MBA. The scholarship is to assist with the costs of participating in the International Exchange Program, by providing a contribution towards travel and accommodation expenses while overseas. The award is based on individuals with the intelligence and ambassadorial qualities to succeed at a leading international business school.

The scholarship is awarded to a candidate who will have completed at least one term of study at Melbourne Business School or, in the case of a part-time student, have completed at least five subjects; will have achieved good academic results; will have been accepted by the School to take part in the MBS International Exchange program; will have an interest in international business; will be a contributor to the MBS community; and will preferably will not have received any other scholarship which assists with study at MBS.

This scholarship varies in value each year, up to $5,000.
