Richard Searle

Richard Searle is an educator and consultant with wide experience in Australia and overseas. He specialises in executive and management development, with a particular focus on Negotiation and Leadership.

Negotiation

A very popular presenter recognised by clients and managers for the expertise, energy and humour which he brings to teaching negotiations, Richard uses a highly interactive approach which aims to meet what he calls the 3Es - effective, efficient and enjoyable learning.

Richard developed Mt Eliza's portfolio of Negotiation Programs, including the Advanced Negotiation and Influence Strategies Program and the Negotiating and Influencing Skills Program. He also has designed and conducted a range of in-house corporate programs including the Strategic Decision Making Program and the Consensus Building and Stakeholder Management Program. Richard presented the Negotiation Course for the University of Queensland/Mt Eliza MBA, and for five years it consistently received the highest ratings for an elective.

Leadership

Richard is recognised by clients and managers in Australia and overseas as an exciting and inspiring facilitator who brings his whole self to the way he develops leaders. His approach is open and challenging, embracing risk and finding the courage and compassion to deliver real and transformative outcomes.

Richard is the Program Director for the Mt Eliza Leadership Program, co-facilitates the Strategic Leadership - The Transformational Process program, and co-facilitates with Professor Amanda Sinclair on her Leadership and Change Course for the Melbourne Business School MBA, as well as working with her on the Mindful Leadership Program.

His corporate clients include General Motors Holden, Aventis, Australia Post, Telstra, Tanker Pacific Singapore, National Australia Bank, Hilton Asia Pacific, Methanex New Zealand, Bank of New Zealand, Australian Security and Investment Commission, Blake Dawson Waldron, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, and the Department of Human Services.

He has delivered management development programs throughout Australia, and in China, Singapore, New Zealand and Fiji. Previous work projects have taken him to Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines. Richard was also a consultant to the World Bank’s Metropolitan Environmental Improvement Program in Asia.
