Paul Dainty

Paul Dainty specialises in the areas of senior executive behaviour, leadership and organisational change.

He has been in management education for more than 30 years. During that period he has conducted research and consulted with many companies in Australia and the UK in the areas of leadership and change management. He spent four years as head of human resources for an international company with 40,000 employees worldwide. At MBS he is responsible for delivering two executive development programs, the Clemenger Program and the School's Intensive Management Program

Paul's academic experience includes roles at the University of Melbourne, Cranfield School of Management (Bedford, UK) and Cass Business School (City University, London).

His research focuses on work competencies and how these are developed. Paul is the co-author of The Capable Executive (Macmillan, 1996) which explores the concept of strategic leadership, the nature of the senior executive role and the competencies needed to operate as a senior executive. He is also co-author of The MBA Companion (Macmillan, 2008), which outlines the competencies MBS students need to become effective in middle and senior management roles. His most recent paper, The Strategic HR Role (Asia Pacific Journal of Human Resources, 2011), explores the competencies needed by senior HR professionals to operate effectively in senior HR positions.
