J. Douglas Dow

Associate Professor - Strategy
Douglas Dow is an experienced academic and researcher, and former consultant, who specialises in the areas of strategy and international business. In his role as Associate Professor - Strategy at MBS, Douglas is also affiliated with the School's Centre for the Practice of International Trade.
Douglas' research interests include the measurement and impact of psychic distance on international activities, market selection and entry modes for foreign direct investment (FDI) and the link between export performance and the degree to which firms adapt their business strategies when entering foreign markets.
In addition to his academic experience, Douglas spent many years consulting with the Australian arm of what is now known as the Boston Consulting Group (then known as Pappas Carter Evans and Koop Pty Ltd). During this period Douglas managed numerous business strategy projects for clients including Pacific Dunlop, ANZ, Qantas, General Electric and The Australian Manufacturing Council.
