Organisational behaviour

Recognising that people are the main source of competitive advantage in organizations, this academic area studies human behaviour, and how management policies and systems contribute to firm performance. MBS faculty have interest in the relationship of gender, sexuality and power to leadership, and the management and leadership of diverse workforces. This fits well with our experimental research on the roles of trust, openness and stereo-typing and how these affect the outcomes of negotiations. There is also an active group researching international human resource management, which includes recruitment and retention of diverse workforces and examining the effect of employee mobility on firm performance.
