Economics

Economics at MBS covers all dimensions of economics from industrial organisation to macroeconomics. In 2003 and 2005, economics at MBS was placed in the Top 10 in rankings of similar disciplines in business schools world-wide.

Faculty research investigates market design-for example the emissions trading scheme, business cycle behaviours, with a strong focus on China and India, spiralling crime rates in developing countries, and the resultant costs to business. There are also strong research streams in technology management and commercialisation as well as development economics.

Research projects are supported by the Centre for Ideas and the Economy and the Intellectual Property Research Institute of Australia.
