The Changing Investment Landscape
The Changing Investment Landscape
MBS and the Business and Information Technology Strategy (BITS) club* are delighted to host James Leplaw, Head of Direct Investing, Banking and Financial Services, Macquarie Group who will be discussing issues surrounding the changing investment landscape in Australia.
Even before the financial market turbulence of the past 18 months, technology was having a significant impact on social behaviour and the business world. However, as time moves on, technology is playing an ever-increasing role. Businesses are far more conscious of the immediacy of information and the impact this can have upon their corporate health and ongoing growth.
The new media environment has also led to a dramatic increase in virtual social networks and increased financial literacy, with investors being able to access more and more online. This presentation considers the future of business, socialising and investing online and what it means for you as an investor.
James will be presenting on the design and creation of Macquarie Edge, Macquarie Group’s online trading platform. The award winning platform brings together trading, research, news and investment tools.
* The Business and Information Technology Strategy (BITS) club at MBS was formed late in 2009 for the purpose of raising the profile of information technology in strategic business activities. BITS aims to provide a platform for students, alumni and the industry to come together, exchange ideas and information and build relationships. Click here for further information.
