Public Life, Private Demons with Andrew Robb
Public Life, Private Demons with Andrew Robb
Melbourne Business School is pleased to invite you to join the Shadow Minister for Finance and Debt Reduction, Andrew Robb as he talks to alumni, students and guests about his new book Black Dog Daze. Black Dog Daze offers readers a unique insight into one very public man’s private battle with depression, set amongst the drama of contemporary Australian politics.
Confronting and inspiring, Robb’s memoir details the challenges of managing depression, political ambition and life in the Liberal Party. Worried about stigmas and letting people down, he avoided confronting the problem for four decades, the adrenaline of high-pressure and high profile jobs offering the ideal antidote. Eventually it was his devotion to the Liberal cause which gave him the impetus to tackle his condition.
Andrew Robb was elected to the Federal seat of Goldstein in 2004, and has previously served as Federal Director and Campaign Director of the Liberal Party. In 2003 Andrew was awarded the Office of the Order of Australia and Centenary Medal for his service to agriculture, politics and the community.
This event will be held at Melbourne Business School on Thursday 29 September from 6.00pm in the Coles Theatre. The session includes an opportunity for Q & A with Andrew followed by networking drinks.
