2009 saw the end of Australia’s domination of the top spot in FutureBrand’s Country Brand Index. Unseated by North American heavyweights USA and Canada, Australia is now ranked the 3rd best nation brand. What does this mean for Australian businesses? And can a country even be a brand?

Erminio is Managing Director and Head of Strategy at FutureBrand Australia.Since joining FutureBrand, Erminio has worked on the creation of new brands in Australia and India across a broad range of industries, including media, resources, finance, retail, FMCG and sport. He has been a lecturer with the Istituto Europeo di Design and Bocconi University in Milan. In 2008 he was appointed adjunct professor at RMIT University in Melbourne.
