Jane Prior

Jane leads the Career Centre. She has a Bachelor of Laws degree with postgraduate qualifications in career counseling and is near completion of her Master of Marketing degree at Melbourne Business School. Jane has more than 10 years of work experience in sales and marketing management with IBM and Johnson & Johnson. More recently, Jane led the campus recruiting team at the Johnson Graduate School of Management, Cornell University before joining Melbourne Business School.

Edward Cook

Graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Politics, Edward started his career working for Goldman Sachs in London. He progressed into a management role at Henderson Global Investors before relocating to Australia in 2001. After 3 years in HR consulting he started work as an internal consultant at National Australia Bank, whilst studying for a Master of HR Management at Melbourne University. In January 2007 Edward commenced studying for an MBA on a Part-time basis at Melbourne Business School. He joined the Career Centre in October 2007 focusing on the Professional Services (Consulting), IT and resources sectors.

Julie Gelman

Julie has held senior management positions in a variety of fields: international finance; project management; television documentary production; and executive search and leadership development. She has been a director of her own and other companies.

Over 20 years of management experience provides Julie with a powerful knowledge base of the people and strategic issues in many types of organisations. She has worked across a variety of industries in the corporate, public, and not-for-profit sectors, assessing leadership requirements within client organisations. She has spent thousands of hours with executives and senior managers, discussing and evaluating those processes and styles which nurture or limit an individual's progress and development within various corporate cultures.

Julie holds a BSc Hons in Linguistics and International Studies from the University of Surrey in England, and an MBA from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.


Eric Howie
Industry consultant, Financial Services

Eric has significant experience and skills in the banking and finance sector having undertaken a variety of roles. With his industry knowledge, his focus includes assisting MBS candidates with their successful placement in the financial services sector.

Eric has worked for local and global banks and has an understanding of the full range of roles available in the Finance sector. He understands how the various banks, Financial services firms and other companies in the sector operate and how and why they select candidates , the processes they employ and relevant job descriptions.

Through his personal recruitment of staff including graduates over a variety of roles, he understands from a practical perspective the personality profiles, skills and attributes sought by prospective employers for successful placement of candidates.

Leo Grogan

Leo has over 18 years experience in campus services within the Australian higher education and TAFE sectors. He has postgraduate qualifications in Management, Career Development and Counselling. Working in a variety of frontline student support, development, teaching and management roles, Leo has extensive experience in individual counselling and coaching, leadership training and international student mentoring.

Marian has extensive experience in human resources, recruitment, and project management within state and federal government employment and adult education agencies.

Marian is building stronger relationships and understanding of the needs of our global employers and diverse student population.
