The University of Melbourne has an Ecumenical Chaplaincy, located in nearby Swanston Street. Numerous chaplains represent different denominations at the Chaplaincy. Regardless of your faith or denomination, the International Student Chaplain will assist you to find the nearest place of worship and can help with any other enquiries. Muslim Prayers are held on campus daily at the Islamic Centre in the Frank Tate Building. There are both brother's and sister's rooms. Halal Food is available in Union House food hall at the University of Melbourne. Many restaurants, cafes and supermarkets in Melbourne sell halal food.

Catholic Churches are located nearby in Parkville (Newman College Chapel of the Holy Spirit, Royal Parade), in the City (St Francis, Lonsdale Street) and in East Melbourne (St Patrick's, Albert Street).

Anglican Churches are located nearby in Parkville (Trinity College Chapel, Royal Parade), in Carlton (St Jude's, Palmerston Street) and City (St Paul's, Flinders Street).

Methodist and Presbyterian Uniting Churches are located in Carlton (Church of All Nations, Palmerston Street) and City (St Michael's Uniting, Collins Street).

There is a Jewish synagogue (Melbourne City Synagogue) in East Melbourne on Albert Street.
