Application process
The School accepts up to 40 people for the EMBA program each year.
Applications for each intake (commencing late September or early October) close on the 31 July.
The School makes continuous offers. Applications may be submitted at any time during the year and may close prior to the application deadline if all available places are filled.
To apply for a place in the program applicants will need to:
1. Complete an on-line application form at the www.mbs.edu/apply indicating:
- an undergraduate degree (in any discipline). Applicants should provide evidence of this degree in the form of fully certified* academic transcripts. Degree certificates are not sufficient. Prospective students without formal tertiary qualifications should contact the EMBA office to discuss their options
- your CV indicating a minimum of ten years full-time work experience gained after graduating from an undergraduate degree. This experience can be in any organisation or industry, but your track record should show continuous professional progression or development
- considered responses to questions about yourself and your goals in support of your application
- the name and contact details (phone and email) of two referees. (Do not include open references)
- proof of citizenship (e.g. certified* copy of passport)
A Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) may be required (GMAT is a worldwide standard in aptitude assessment for admission to postgraduate management programs). For further information visit the GMAT Educational Testing Services website www.mba.com.
2. Forward original certified* copies of academic transcripts and citizenship documents to the EMBA office
3. Have an interview with a member of the EMBA team or MBS faculty
Please note: The Selection Committee reserves the right to request further information from applicants, if required, before making a final decision.
*Please ensure copies of your transcripts and passport are correctly certified. Most applicants simply have photocopies of the original documents certified by a lawyer, pharmacist, doctor, police officer or Justice of the Peace. All this involves is having any of the before mentioned parties sighting both the original copy and the photocopy of the original document at the same time, ensuring that the photocopy is an exact copy of the original. The photocopy is then stamped and signed by the appropriate authority to confirm that it is an exact copy of the original document.
The review of applications begins as soon as all materials are received.
The Selection Committee responds to applicants as quickly as possible, normally within two weeks of receiving a complete application.
Successful applicants
A formal letter of offer is sent to successful applicants detailing the terms and conditions of the offer and setting a deadline by which it must be accepted. The deadline is normally about four weeks from the date of the Letter of Offer.
Unsuccessful applications
Unsuccessful applicants are notified in writing. The School appreciates that considerable time and effort are required to apply for a place in the program and that it is disappointing to submit an unsuccessful application. However, the School regrets that it is not able to comment on specific factors that may have led to the final decision of the Selection Committee.
