Substitutions, Credits & Transfers

Students are encouraged to seek substitution out of compulsory subjects where they have significantly covered the subject material during a course of study elsewhere. When a substitution is granted, the student must still complete thirteen subjects in the Master of Marketing program by substituting an elective subject chosen from the relevant elective offerings.

From time to time, the School will also grant credit in recognition of comparable study completed elsewhere at a postgraduate level. For example, students with a CPA Accountancy qualification are permitted to gain a credit for Accounting for Managers. Credit will only be given for subjects which are comparable in content to compulsory subjects and the maximum allowable credit in the Master of Marketing program is three subjects.

Applications for credits and substitutions can be assessed at the time of application. Applicants are asked to submit an application with a covering letter stating they wish to apply for a credit or a substitution for previous study. Applicants are required to supply course outlines and their results for subjects undertaken. If an applicant is successful the number of credits or substitution granted will be outlined in the letter of offer.
