Selection criteria

MBS degree programs are designed for people who can make a valuable contribution to the learning experience at the School and have the personal characteristics necessary to succeed in their chosen course.

In the application process, the Selection Committee will look for evidence of your:

  • managerial and leadership potential
  • academic aptitude
  • interpersonal and communication skills
  • maturity and motivation

The Selection Committee reviews the extent and scope of your organisational roles and responsibilities. Involvement in professional, community, cultural and/or sporting groups is also taken into consideration. Academic capabilities are assessed by the results you have received in previous study, the reputation and standards of the institution you attended and any scholarships or prizes you have received.

Careful consideration is given to all of the information provided, particularly your personal statements on managerial progression, leadership achievement and personal qualities which have lead to a career in management. The Selection Committee will base its judgment on a wide range of criteria and not just one indicator.

Program specific selection criteria can be found under the relevant program area.
