About us

The Centre

Launched in early 2010, the Centre offers a range of initiatives to develop and promote ethical leadership.

The goals of the Centre are:

  • To develop a cohort of ethical leaders who can go on to lead Australian business corporations, political organisations, legal groups, educational institutions, indigenous organisations, religious organisations and other not-for-profit institutions

  • To create a network of Fellows, alumni, mentors and faculty who will share knowledge and experiences seeking to solve ethical issues of the day. This micro ethical society includes open debate, application of ethical principles, learning and modeling of ethical leadership

  • To shape the expectations and achievements of ethical action in Australian society through the actions of graduates, alumni and other students, public debates, research and other communications

  • To develop and execute a research agenda on ethical leadership that gains both international and local recognition, communicates results to practitioners are well as other scholars.

Our Values

Within the Centre, these core values represent a set of evaluative commitments that are deeply embedded in our conception of ethical leadership, such that they cannot be negotiated away, or ignored.

Our core values include:

  • Virtue – constantly striving to develop in one self and others the virtues of charity, compassion, forbearance, humility and recognition of the essential dignity of other people

  • Care - acting to ensure the welfare of others, nature and the environment

  • Justice- ensuring just decisions through open and informed decision-making

  • Integrity - being consistently honest and trustworthy in all activities

  • Respect - having regard for self and others, nature and the environment
